Business Globalization Study Trip

Midway through their coursework in the UK-UofL Executive MBA, students participate in a 12 day Business Globalization study trip. The trip is specifically designed to pair a developing or transitional economy with an established economy that is different from what is experienced in the United States, giving participants a great deal of insight in terms of how business is done outside of the domestic market. The group typically meets with between six to eight businesses during the experience and will also partake in cultural activities along the way.

To find out more about the UK-UofL Executive MBA Business Globalization course you can view our student Facebook takeover from a recent trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Tokyo, Japan which included visits to an Alltech production facility, the Esquel Group (makers of high-quality polo shirts), Hung Phat Tea, KPMG, CMIC (a company which operates in the pharmaceutical industry), and Wunderman, a marketing firm.

Other destinations visited by the program have included destinations such as:

  • Prague, Czech Republic
  • Seoul, South Korea
  • Hong Kong, China
  • Macao, China
  • Santiago, Chile (2019)
  • Buenos Aires, Argentina (2019)

“Despite already having achieved a tremendous amount of success in their careers, many of our students lack a truly global perspective on the business world. Participating in this trip opens their eyes to new opportunities and challenges present in the global economy, as well as giving a look at a different set of cultures.”
